Telehealth in Schools

This course is designed to provide best practices and considerations for how to adopt and integrate telehealth technology to facilitate patient-to-provider consultations in the school or school-based health center setting, through synchronous, consultative and patient-to-provider communications. The information provided in this module will facilitate improved access to specialty care for students and staff, reduction of unnecessary visits and loss of time from school and work, and provide timely intervention, treatment, support, and educational resources for students and school staff.
Overview

This course is designed to enable the learner to understand, implement and evaluate school-based telehealth (SBTH) as a way increase access to care. Not all telehealth is created equally; however, opportunities can be found with various types of technology and delivery systems to bring medical providers into the school virtually. This presentation will share real world experience and knowledge of programs across the country. We will discuss the best practices, standards of care, and potential pitfalls.
